Elements of karstology and regional karstology

Objectives of the course

Student gets acquainted with basic sources of karstology (bibliography, research centres) and with the karstology as a whole. He gets an overview of karst as a part of Earth surface as well as the main outline of karst in the World and its types. Connection of man and karst is emphasized.

Prerequisites

Secondary school geography and geology.

Assessment methods

Oral examination or examination by distance.

Course contents

Besides the introduction in a study of karst, student gets acquainted with basic karstological terminology and with basic distribution of karst in the World, including its types.
