Computer science

Objectives of the course

The objective of the course is to inform the students about the basic principles of the computer science, computer programming languages and object-oriented programming concepts. The objective is also to prepare the students to use the computers as a tool for numerically solving mathematical problems. The course begins with a history, arhitecture and operation of computers. Basics of programming algorithms, fortran, C and C++, are introduced in a way, that is appropriate for scientific solving of problems. More attention is paid to programming languages C and partially to C++, that features efficient object-oriented programming. Numerical methods include solving of array equations, static data analysis and basics of partial differenctial equations solving.
